Urbis zx3

Urbis zx3s are one of favourite street lights. They were very popular in the uk and there are quite a few of them on the M25. They can come with white or black canopies.

M25

These Urbis zx3s are on the M25. They have white canopies and no photocell, instead, they are group-controlled. They also have flat-glass and are on 14m columns.

This poor zx3 (the one on the right) has lost its canopy. You can see the reflector and the 400w SON control gear.

A30

Here is a post-top urbis zx3. They are group controlled, just like the other ones on the M25.

Here you can see that it is not great to mount zx3s post-top, as their post-top mounting system is not great, or that the grub screws haven’t been tightened correctly. These ones are misaligned with the road! I can see from google maps that these zx3s were installed between 2008 and 2012. The ampera has been removed, as they were starting to fail.

A3

These urbis zx3 e are on the A3, on very short stud brackets. I think they run 400w or 250w SON-T bulbs. About 1 or 2 have got no back canopy.

Here is a stretch of zx3s on the A3.

Here is one with no back canopy.
